Do I have to buy new glasses?

No way! PogoCam works with just about any glasses (including the ones you already love) by using the PogoLoop adapter (included in your purchase). Whether you wear sunglasses, prescription glasses, or readers you can still use PogoCam.

How big is PogoCam?

Can I use PogoCam with my own glasses?

Can I get a discount for buying multiple PogoCams?

It’s tiny! PogoCam measures 1.7in x .5in x .43in. Which, for reference, is quite a bit smaller than a tube of lip balm. If you don’t have that nearby, put two dimes side-by-side, and the camera will still be smaller!

How heavy is PogoCam?

Can I use PogoCam with my own glasses?

PogoCam is so light you won’t even remember you’re wearing it. The camera weighs about 0.2 ounces. Two dimes in your hand technically weigh more!

Yes! We love answering this question because it sets us apart from other camera glasses. Attach PogoCam to your glasses using the PogoLoop adapter (included).

Will PogoCam easily fall off?

I own many different glasses. How easy is it to switch PogoCam onto different glasses?

Can I take PogoCam on extreme adventures?

The magnet that holds PogoCam is quite strong, but with a direct bump it could detach. We’ve included a safety ring to prevent accidentally losing the camera should it ever come off.

Can I take PogoCam on extreme adventures?

Hmm. Depends on how extreme you’re talking. Underwater? No. Skydiving? We don’t recommend that. But, a motorcycle ride or something like that? You’re probably okay.

You really want to avoid PogoCam being drenched or submerged in water and definitely watch out for direct hits or bumps that may cause the camera to detach (and subsequently break or get lost).

I own many different glasses. How easy is it to switch PogoCam onto different glasses?

I own many different glasses. How easy is it to switch PogoCam onto different glasses?

It’s so easy! You could place a PogoLoop on all your glasses and just pop PogoCam on/off as you desire. Or, you could transfer PogoLoop and PogoCam to other glasses. (We’d go with the former, but it’s up to you.)

Will PogoCam attach to my glasses?

What if I don’t want to use PogoLoop?

I own many different glasses. How easy is it to switch PogoCam onto different glasses?

PogoCam attaches to most sunglasses, prescription glasses, readers, and more with the PogoLoop adapter (included).

We only say “most” glasses because some very thin wire frames may not provide a snug enough fit for even the smallest PogoLoop option.

That’s okay. You still have options. If you buy from PogoTec.com, you’ll get a free pair of PogoTrack sunglasses — they have a metal strip built in to magnetically hold the camera. Just pop it on!

Can I leave PogoLoop on my glasses?

You bet! Most people do. The PogoLoop is barely noticeable and makes it easy to pop the camera on and off whenever you want.

How do I know PogoCam is attached correctly?

Can I wear PogoCam on either side of my glasses?

How do I know PogoCam is attached correctly?

Whether attached to your glasses via the PogoLoop adapter, or a pair of PogoTrack glasses, the camera should be:

  • Snug against the frame (no dangling or jiggling)
  • Positioned as close to the front of the glasses as possible
  • If your glasses have large hinges on them, you may need to pull the PogoLoop over the hinge itself.

NOTE: the optimal position for PogoCam is where the lens of the camera is slightly out in front of the glasses themselves.

How does the safety ring attach/work?

Can I wear PogoCam on either side of my glasses?

How do I know PogoCam is attached correctly?

The safety ring is made of thin elastic and snaps into a tiny pronged holder on the back of the camera. Once it’s connected to the camera, you slip it over the temple of your glasses (don’t worry, it’s flexible).

If PogoCam were to accidentally be detached it would hang off your glasses until you reach up and pop it back on!

Can I leave PogoCam powered on all day?

In idle mode, PogoCam will hold a charge for about 20 days. While using the camera, the battery will drain in accordance with use and storage capacity. In other words, the camera's battery will more or less run until you've filled up the storage with photos and videos.

Note: Turning the camera off and on will drain the battery faster than normal photographic use. In other words, turn it on only when you're going to be taking photos and videos.

You can pop PogoCam into the smart case to offload the images and start recharging. The smart case recharges PogoCam up to 3 times while you’re on the go. A full charge of PogoCam takes about 35 minutes.

PLEASE NOTE: If you use the app, we do not recommend deleting directly from the smart case or PogoCam while connected to a computer.

The reason for this is that sometimes the cached images on your app will fall out of sync with what you've deleted on the case or camera. If you use the app, follow the instructions here for deleting images through the app.

Delete through the App

We recommend the best practice of clearing your smart case through the PogoCam app. To do that, open the app, make sure your smart case is connected, go to Options. On that screen, you will see the option to Delete All Media on Smart Case:

How do I transfer photos from the smart case to the app?

Open the app. Tap on “Smart Case” on the menu at the bottom. Below the battery and connection information is a big blue button that says:

Select photos and videos to download

Tap it. You’ll see a gallery with your photos and videos in it. Here you can select photos one-at-a-time (up to 20) to transfer to your phone via Bluetooth. Once you select a photo (or many), a blue button appears at the bottom of the screen. On the left, you’ll see “Download to Gallery.” On the right, “Delete.” Tap the Download side. The app will show you the progress of downloading your photos. Once downloaded, you can view them in the Gallery.

Note: The app limits you to 20 photos per Bluetooth transfer

If you have more than a couple dozen photos, we recommend transferring those over a wired connection. (Bluetooth is convenient but it can be a bit slow with a lot of files.)

Also Note: You will need to transfer videos with a wired connection.

The app crashes when I try to download photos. Why does this happen?

This is certainly frustrating but there is probably a very simple reason: the battery on your smart case may be low.

If the battery is too low on the smart case, it disrupts the signal to the app and cause it to crash. The solution is to charge your smart case and try again later.

Having problems connecting my smart case to a computer, how do I find photos & videos I've taken?

The battery on my smart case seems to die very quickly. Is there a reason for this?

Any time the smart case is powered on (the power switch in the “1” position), it does not sleep but continues to consume power. When you are done transferring your PogoCam media to your smart case and charging the camera, make sure that you power off the smart case (move the power switch to the “0” position).

Having problems connecting my smart case to a computer, how do I find photos & videos I've taken?

Having problems connecting my smart case to a computer, how do I find photos & videos I've taken?

Have you tried turning it off and turning back on? We’re honestly asking. Often, the issue is something in the combination of the case’s power and connection to the computer. Different computers mount external drives in different ways. To isolate the problem, try ejecting the smart case from the computer, turning the smart case off, disconnecting it from the cable. Then, plug the cable back into the case and power the the case on. This should re-establish the connection with the computer.

A second possibility is that the pictures haven’t finished downloading to the smart case before you connected it to your computer. In this case, eject the SMART CASE disc from your computer and disconnect the cable to the case. Turn off the smart case. Plug the camera back into the smart case. Then, turn on the case. The LED under the camera door should be flashing quickly to indicate that the camera’s media is still transferring to the smart case. Wait until that LED flashes more slowly or is solid before you reconnect to your computer.

If neither of those solutions work, we have one troubleshooting step for you to try: on your next use, before docking PogoCam in the smart case, try connecting it directly to your computer. Check the DCIM folder there. If your pictures and videos are present, download them to your computer as a backup. Do not delete them off the camera. Charge the smart case to make sure it has power. Then dock the camera into the smart case. After your media completes its transfer to the case, connect the case via cable to your computer again.

Why doesn’t my laptop/desktop find the smart case when connected through a USB-C cable?

Having problems connecting my smart case to a computer, how do I find photos & videos I've taken?

Having problems connecting my smart case to a computer, how do I find photos & videos I've taken?

There are two main culprits when this happens: power and connections.

Power

The smart case has to have power in it to initiate the connection to your computer.

If your smart case has power, power it off, connect the cable to your computer, power it on.

If your smart case battery is drained, no problem. Power it on and plug it into computer (this will kick start the charging). After a few minutes, power it off and on again. This should initiate the connection.

Connections

PogoCam comes with a USB-C (the little end) to USB-A (the common USB type) cable. In most instances, all you have to do is connect the USB-A end to your laptop or desktop’s USB port. If you have a computer with USB-C ports, you’ll want to use a USB-C to USB-C cable.

Most connection problems are caused when a cable of one type is routed through an adaptor or multi-port. Try unplugging the adaptor and plugging directly into the computer if possible.

If you are using a USB-C to USB-C cable through Apple’s USB-C Digital AV Multiport Adaptor, you will not be able to transfer. This is a known limitation of this adaptor from Apple. It transmits power only, not data. The smart case will work through a USB-C to USB-C cable. Simply remove the Multiport Adaptor and connect the case directly to a USB-C port.

I'm getting a notice to reformat the smart case when I plug in to my computer. Should I do that?

I'm getting a notice to reformat the smart case when I plug in to my computer. Should I do that?

I'm getting a notice to reformat the smart case when I plug in to my computer. Should I do that?

 In short, no.

Sometimes, when plugging a smart case into a PC via USB, users will receive a pop up message that advises them to reformat the case (the external drive) before they can access the files.

This is usually caused when the smart case is also connected via Bluetooth to the PogoCam app on a user's phone or tablet. To solve this, turn Bluetooth off on your mobile device. Then unplug the smart case from the computer, power off the case, power it on again, and plug back into the USB.

This may also be caused if you plug the smart case into a PC before the files from the PogoCam have offloaded to the smart case. If you notice the camera light on the case is flashing rapidly, unplug the case from the computer and wait for that light to turn solid. Then plug back into the USB.

Smart case files are unreadable on my Mac. How can I correct this?

I'm getting a notice to reformat the smart case when I plug in to my computer. Should I do that?

I'm getting a notice to reformat the smart case when I plug in to my computer. Should I do that?

Generally, you shouldn't see any problem when you plug the smart case into a computer. If you notice that files on your smart case seem to be unreadable or corrupt when you connect via USB, we have some suggestions:

  1. Try turning the smart case off before plugging it into the USB and then turn the smart case back on after it's plugged in.
  2. Make sure you allow the files proper time to download from the camera to the smart case. When you plug the camera into the smart case and turn on the smart case, you'll see a fast blinking green light under the camera symbol. After a few minutes it should turn into a slow blinking green light (this indicates the download has finished and it's now charging the camera) or a solid green light (this indicates the download has finished and the camera is fully charged).
  3. If the smart case is paired with your phone and the app is open, you won't be able to connect to a Mac by USB. Once you close the app, you should see the smart case appear on the MAC desktop.
  4. If none of the first 3 things remedy the problem,It is possible the case is not charged enough for file transfer to take place. Remove the camera from the case. Recharge the case until the green LED for the case is solid. Then plug the camera firmly back into the case and see if data starts to transfer (the green LED under the camera icon flashes quickly).

No. PogoCam does not currently have Wi-Fi.

I lost my PogoCam. Are my images backed up somewhere?

If you mean “backed up” in the cloud storage sense, then no. PogoCam doesn’t have direct access to cloud services.

Images may be in any of the following places:

  1. The camera itself (though not helpful if you lost it)
  2. In the smart case (if you’ve docked PogoCam in it to transfer recently)
  3. On your smartphone or other Bluetooth-enabled device (if you’ve used the app or USB cable to transfer from PogoCam or smart case)

When you plug PogoCam into the smart case, your images move from the camera to the case. So, if you’ve done that recently (and not deleted the images off the smart case yet) they may be there.
